Kai Housewares Warranty Information & Free Sharpening Service

Kai brand products sold by Kai USA Ltd. are backed by a Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects. In addition to supporting our products with this warranty, we will be happy to sharpen your Kai knife for free for as long as you own the knife.

If you believe your product may have a problem in its original material or craftsmanship, please send it in for evaluation. Complete the online warranty form at the “WARRANTY/SERVICE FORM” button. Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email with a PDF of the form. Download it to your desktop, open it in Adobe Acrobat, print it out, and include the form with your shipment. Be sure to save the PDF or another copy of the form for your records.

Warranty/Service Form FAQ


We will sharpen your Kai cutlery for free for as long as you own it. It’s as simple as that. You pay for shipping and processing, and our expert sharpening services are FREE. If you live in the area, you may also bring your Kai knives in for free sharpening. We can sharpen up to two knives while you wait; more than two and they will be ready for you to pick up the next day. Please be aware that sharpening actually removes metal from the blade. This is normal and is to be expected. Note that serrated knives can be honed by our service, but cannot be sharpened.

Shipping and processing fees

Shipping and processing fees are required for all Kai sharpening and warranty services. The fee is $5 for the first knife, $2 for each additional knife. Please enclose check or money order with your items (payable to Kai USA LTD) or include credit card information in the space provided on the Warranty/Service Form. Canadian customers: please include a flat fee of $15 for shipping and processing. Other international customers please call or email for a quote prior to sending knives in for service.
